The Frost Files - The Story So Far
The Frost Files—which tell the story of psychokinetic government agent Teagan Frost and her adventures in Los Angeles—are designed so that new readers can jump in anywhere. You don’t need to have read the previous books to enjoy a Frost Files adventure!
There are three books in the series, and the fourth, A Sh*tload of Crazy Powers, comes out in May 2022. If you’re wanting to jump right into that, or any of the other books, here’s a brief explanation of what’s happened to Teagan up to this point. Expect plenty of dumb jokes, sarcasm, and food porn. Just because these are summaries doesn’t mean we can’t fuck around, does it?
It goes without saying that there are SPOILERS for the first few books! That’s unavoidable, as there are some characters who meet sticky ends along the way. But I’ve tried to spoil as little as possible, and I’ve kept them short—these are literally just the basic facts that will help everything make sense when you dive in.
If you want to grab any of the previous books, or preorder the latest (and you should, because preorders are awesome) just click on the title of each book. That’ll take you to a page with links to Amazon, B&N, Waterstones, and many more.
The Girl Who Could Move Sh*t With Her Mind (2019)
22-year-old Teagan Frost was created by her geneticist parents to have psychokinesis, the ability to move things with her mind. Yes, they were really fucking smart. So smart they created three kids with abilities.
Things went really, really wrong when one of them, Teagan’s brother, Adam, lost his mind and killed their parents and Teagan’s sister Chloe. Yikes.
Anyway, Teagan got away, and that was…a while ago. She spends her time being sarcastic, chaotic, messy and not always very smart, Teagan now works for the government in Los Angeles as part of the black bag China Shop crew. She is, as far as she knows, the only person with extranormal abilities left in the entire world. She doesn’t want to be a government agent. She’d rather own her own restaurant. Called Teagan’s Tacos. Or Grillmatic, she can’t decide which.
Her crew features ex-gangster Annie Cruz, anal-retentive logistics guy Paul Marino, quadriplegic hacker Reggie McCormick, and wheelman Carlos Morales (who is also Teagan’s best friend). Together, they and Teagan complete jobs for the US government, using her psychokinesis to open doors, crack safes, and plant bugs. She’s handy.
One night, after a job goes south, Teagan finds herself framed for murder. The victim was killed in a way that only a psychokinetic could have managed. As the bodies pile up, Teagan discovers Jake—another psychokinetic, one who is also a result of her parents’ experiments. Jake is killing on behalf of a mysterious figure, Chuy. Chuy turns out to be Carlos—Teagan’s closest friend. In a terrifying battle against the backdrop of a wildfire in the north of the city, both Jake and Carlos are killed.
Sad trombone.
BUT! Teagan survives. Finds out a little more about herself. And finally, finally gets to have some breakfast.

Random Sh*t Flying Through the Air (2020)
China Shop are back in business, with Teagan trying to scheme her way to being allowed to attend chef’s school, and hoping to impress her crush, lawyer Nic Delacourt, who is super hot—he’s like a bald Chadwick Boseman.
After Carlos’ death, there’s a new member of the crew: Idriss ‘Africa’ Kouame, an enormous Senegalese wheelman. Africa has a bajillion stories (some of which may even be true) and wants nothing more than to kick ass at his new job. Which is a problem, because that enthusiasm can get annoying.
Teagan’s life is once again disrupted by Matthew Schenke—an unusually intelligent four-year-old sociopath with the ability to cause earthquakes. Imagine the nastiest, shittiest little kid you can think of, then give him superpowers. He is, to date, the most-hated villain I have ever written.
He sets off multiple quakes in and around Los Angeles, and in the battle to find him, China Shop’s Paul Marino is killed. Ouch.
Teagan and the crew work out that Matthew plans to set off the Cascadia faultline, which runs up and down the West Coast. With the help of a special ops team of snipers, they manage to stop him causing the quake, although he evades capture. What, you think I’m killing a bad guy that good?

Eye of the Sh*t Storm (2021)
TIME FOR SOME HARD DRUGS!
Teagan accidentally discovers that crystal meth supercharges her power after a plan to disrupt drug-trafficking bikers goes horribly wrong. She didn’t intend to get high, but she gets a blast of the stuff in the face.
Also, her escapades leave a bridge over the LA River storm drains. completely destroyed, with a gigantic pile of debris. But Teagan does end up getting fried chicken, so no harm, no foul.
She has no time to deal with it, however, because a building in Glendale has become mysteriously electrified. Yep, the whole building. Wood, walls, ceilings, doors, the toilets, the urinals, the desks, all of it.
Inside, Teagan discovers Leo, a scared kid with the ability to channel electricity through any object. Leo isn’t hostile, but Teagan does not want to hand him over to the government. She goes on the run, with Leo in tow. That puts her at odds with Annie, Reggie and Africa, who are tasked with tracking her down.
As the chase reaches its climax, Teagan makes the decision to save a massive homeless camp in the storm drain from an approaching flash flood—one caused by the destroyed bridge. She only just manages to pull it off. While she’s doing that, Annie discovers that Leo had been trying to escape from Teagan’s brother and sister, who are very much alive and continuing their parents’ research. Leo loses control of his powers, and Annie is left in a coma.
As Teagan visits Annie in the hospital, she too discovers her siblings are still alive when they both walk into Annie’s room…
I love cliffhanger endings.
